The Rise Up Fundraising Youth Carnival 2024: A Celebration of Unity and Vibrance

The Fundraising Rise Up Carnival organised by Youth – To Have “Fun” and to raise “Fund” was a resounding success, bringing together people of all ages, races, and backgrounds for a day filled with fun, connection, and unforgettable memories. The event was held last Saturday, the 7th December at The Visitation Church, Seremban, celebrated the vibrancy of youth while fostering community spirit and teamwork.

The festivities began with an electrifying Zumba dance session. A high-energy Zumba performance By Zin Christine and Zin Porsha representing The Ministry of the Poor, set the tone, energizing the crowd and encouraging everyone to join in. The spirit of collaboration and inclusivity was evident as praise dancers from diverse cultural backgrounds performed a beautifully choreographed routine, leaving the audience mesmerized.

The Rise Up Fundraising Youth Carnival 2024 kicked off with an unforgettable opening ceremony, blending tradition, innovation, and a touch of spectacle. The event commenced with The “Negaraku” and followed by an inspiring speech by the esteemed VIP guest, YB Tuan Teo Kok Seong, EXCO Negeri Sembilan dan ADUN Bahau together with Father Xavier, The Parish Priest of Church of Visitation, Seremban, Assistant Parish Priest, Father Kenneth and Assistant Parish Priest, Father Philip, whose words of encouragement and unity resonated deeply with the audience.

In a modern twist, a state-of-the-art drone soared gracefully above the crowd, capturing breathtaking aerial views of the carnival grounds while slowly coming downwards. This added a futuristic flair to the ceremony, symbolizing innovation and progress.

The official ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the formal start of the festivities. With Father Xavier, Sabrina-youth leader, leading the way, the symbolic act of cutting the ribbon was met with loud cheers and applause, a joyous acknowledgment of the community’s collective effort to make the event possible.

As the final touch, a vibrant array of balloons was released into the sky, their colorful ascent mirroring the festive spirit of the day. The popping sound of confetti-filled balloons added a playful energy, setting an exciting tone for the activities to come.

This thoughtfully planned opening ceremony embodied the spirit of The Rise up Fundraising Youth Carnival 2024—unity, innovation, and celebration. It was a memorable moment that perfectly set the stage for a day of fun, laughter, and connection.

Throughout the day, attendees indulged in a variety of mouthwatering food from local vendors, offering flavors from around the world such as Muruku, Nasi Lemak, Pastries, pancakes and many more. Meanwhile, the carnival area buzzed with excitement as participants enjoyed games and activities designed for all ages, from classic carnival games to modern challenges that tested both skill and creativity.

The stage came alive with solo/group/duo performances showcasing local talent, from heartfelt vocalists to dazzling instrumentalists, each leaving their unique mark. The highlight of the day was the grand finale—a spectacular performance by a popular artist Dato Francissca Peter who had the crowd singing, dancing, and cheering. The energy was palpable as everyone came together to celebrate the event’s success.

The carnival’s success was a testament to the dedication of the organizing team and the overwhelming support from the community. It was a day that united people in joy, reminding everyone of the power of teamwork and the beauty of diversity.

As the sun set, the carnival concluded, leaving attendees with cherished memories, funds raised for the Church building and the anticipation of next year’s event (perhaps). The Rise Up Fundraising Youth Carnival 2024 truly proved that when a community comes together, magic happens.
